HPS cold air intake system relocates the filter outside of the engine compartment to deliver cool air inlet temperatures. Cooler air carries more oxygen, which translates into a more intense explosion in the combustion chamber to create more horsepower and torque. By tuning the inlet pipe in length and diameter to match the engine's resonance helps move more air to the cylinders and this tuning allows HPS Cold Air Intake to deliver large power gains. With the in-house dyno, HPS also monitor fuel trim correction factors and all OBDII sensors during R&D to eliminate leaning the engine out and/or throwing a check engine light.
Constructed of light weight mandrel-bent aluminum alloy piping, HPS Cold Air Intake has long lasting durability. All HPS Cold Air Intake Systems come with the HPS signature reinforced silicone hoses, which ensure the durability and reliability during the extreme driving condition.
Some of the HPS cold air intake kit has been designed to be used in two different configurations. In the case of inclement weather, the cold air tube can be removed and the filter can be clamped onto the short ram tube located in the engine compartment as shown above, to avoid the possibility of ingesting water into the engine.
